with ten minutes to go , the score was still 3-0 and redville were coasting. Jenny Thorpe ran over to Tonsils.
" What do you think ? Now ? " (big business and it's tihs)
Tonsils thought for a second , then nodded . " Should be safe , " he said . " Go for it , Jenny . "
The Jarrett winger sprinted forward.
He'd been having a bad time agianst Jenny and , once agian , she slid in with a tackle and pushed the ball off for s throw-in . This time , however , she did'nt get up .
" Aaggh! It's my ankle , " she groaned a knees-up Knebworth came puffing across the pitch with Edwin behind him carrying the bucket and sponge .

" Aaaaggghhh!' she yelled even louder as a spongeful of freezing water was sloshed on her ankle .
"How's that ? " asked Knees-up .
" Worse , " said Jenny . It was true . She'd only been pretending before - that had been the plan . Now her ankle felt like it was suffering from frostbite,
" I'll have to come off , " she moaned.
" Edwin will have to take my place . "
Mr Knebworth's face fell . " Really ? "
" Really , " said Jenny . As she hopped towards the touch line , Mr Knebworth checked his watch . ten minutes to go and 3-0 up . He looked at Edwin , then back to his watch . Finally he took a deep breath and said , " very well . On you go , Edwin . "

The match got under way agian . In Jenny's position at left back , Edwin bounced up and down . He was on the pitch at last . And in the Cup Final . Brilliant !

There was only one thing he needed now to make his day complete - a kick of the ball .

Suddenly , he saw his chance . As Ramona Gupta won the ball with another good tackle , she hit it gently back towards Roly Bentall in the redville goal .
Thinking that he could get the kick he wanted by helping the ball on its way back to Roly , edwin hared across the feild .
The trouble was that , in his hurry to get on the feild in the first place , he hadn't done his lace up very well . Now , as he thundered towards the ball , the lace slid under his foot . The effect was disarstrous. Like a torpedo in football gear , Edwin dived forward , slithered along the ground - and hit the ball past Roly Bentall with his head , An own goal !
