Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this email. I am working with a group of animal advocates in Nashville, TN., to try and save the life of a dog that has been sentenced to death row. She has an amazing story and has been caged at the Metro Animal Control for over one year. Her owner has spent many thousands of dollars to save her life but to no avail- the Judge has sentenced her to euthanasia. There are many surrounding circumstances regarding this poor dog’s plight. She is a pitbull and Nashville euthanizes ALL pitbulls and pit mixes that are brought to their shelter. Thousands and thousands of pitbulls have been euthanized due to their breed. They are not allowed to have a temperament test or medical check, as other breeds are, when coming into that facility. Automatic Euthanasia. There are stories about two women that have put ads on Craigslist offering to take unwanted pitbulls for a fee. They in turn have been accused of surrendering these dogs to the Metro Animal Control. Supposedly, hundreds of dogs have been surrendered- Do you not wonder why this has not been seen as a “red flag” to the employees of Metro Animal Control? Have they been told to “look the other way” by higher officials? There have been rumors that this could be.
We feel this pitbull, Prada, right this moment on death row, did not receive a fair trial due to the evidence surrounding Nashville and it’s breed discrimination. We also believe much of the evidence in court has been based on Nashville city employee’s testimonies, which could be biased in order to keep their jobs. She has never had an incident before she was accidently let out into her neighborhood, and the incidences at the Animal Control are being used against her, even though there is much evidence of abuse and lack of supervision. We believe they are “hellbent” on euthanizing this dog because of her breed, not the TRUE evidence. Even the media has been biased to make the story more dramatic as well, which has hurt her case tremendously. Her owner has fought for her life with many trials, many lawyers, and thousands and thousands of dollars. The judge has sentenced the dog to death because he has said Nashville Law limits his choices in cases like this. We are seeking out anyone that may be able to help us in our quest to save Prada. Her time is very limited so we must work quickly. Can you help? I have added a few links below for you to view.
