THE SOUND OF SILENCE

THE SOUND OF SILENCE

Tick, ‘I love you’

Tock, ‘I’ll see you tonight’

The door slams, ‘I’m leaving you’

A car flies by, ‘I miss you’

The floor creaks, ‘Will you marry me?’

And nothing echoes, ‘Yes.’

The kettle boils, ‘I’m not happy’

The phone rings and rings, ‘I said I’m not happy’

‘I’m leaving you,’ nothing.

‘I love you’, nothing.

‘I’ll see you tonight?’
