No comments. Just plain good music...
.
Queen - Liar (1973)
- I forgot to post this one on Freddie's birthday. Too good to be left out... Eye-wink
.
Kings Of Leon - Wait For Me (2013)
- The Kings' new album is one of the best pop albums released this year, I think.
.
Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel Of Love (1987)
- Back in the 1980s, The Boss used to roam the charts. Here's one of the reasons.
.
J.J. Cale -After Midnight (1971)
- J.J. hardly ever smiled, but he was 100% about music.
.
Jan Johansson - Viser Från Utanmyra
- Swedish folk tune turned into an "intellectual" jazz classic. Utanmyra is a small hamlet on Sollerön - the biggest island in the Siljan Lake in mid-Sweden.
.
And now for something quite different...
.
Jerold Immel - Dallas Theme (extended)
- Texan oil overdose...?
.
Airwolf Theme
- Oh dear, oh dear... Laughing out loud
.
Guns Of Paradise (1992)
- I was obsessed with this family western series about 20 years ago. Time flies.
.
Angelo Badalamenti - Twin Peaks Theme
- Still one of the most fascinating TV shows ever! Cool
.
If anyone has TV or film theme requests, please comment. Sticking out tongue

HAPPY OLD DAY GODDESS Smiling and euro oh wise and naked one nice selection of songs

Aaand here we go again... Happy 34, 'Pink diggy'!
.
Feel Good Time (Charlie's Angels soundtrack, 2003)
- I never saw "Charlie's Angels" (neither the old or the new one). Pink always looks cool, but judge for yourselves if

you think the video still looks as cool as it did 10 years ago. Eye-wink
.
Going To California (2001)
- This song sounds kind of 'off beat' to me. I have always been fascinated by its rhythm and sound. Cool
.
The King Is Dead But The Queen Is Alive (Fan feature video)
- Pink has a lot of fans of all ages. These fans recorded a video with love and passion.
.
Bad Bad Day (2009)
- What do you do when you have half a down of song bits that don't really fit together? You record a rhapsody! Laughing out loud
.
Steel Panther & Pink - 18 And Life (Live@Metal Skool, 2007)
- She isn't quite as drunk as she was when she did "Sweet Child O' Mine" with them. But even if she forgets the lyrics a

couple of times, it's no wonder that the Steel Panther guys love her raspy vocal.
.
Me And Bobby McGee (Live@Grammy rehearsals)
- A socalled rehearsal for the Grammy award show. If you haven't got time to hear it all, jump to the last 30 seconds! Eye-wink
.
Please Don't Leave Me (Live@4Music, 2009)
- This live performance is still my favourite recording of this catchy ballad. Pink was sick with fever that day...
.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone. Smiling

I realised why P!nk is so revered for concerts, as much as for her music, a fan in a post described it perfectly - while she is on stage, there is literally no other place in the world she would rather be.

Are you hiding in the closet
Are you underneath the bed
Did you go for a long walk off a short pier
How come you're not here!

It's been a while since I checked in to this site. I've missed your singalong's the most Kaspin, and this one was a beauty! Freddie really was a showman, and I don't think anyone will ever match him. P!nk is the only one who even comes close. It's a dying art, connecting emotionally, intellectually and physically to your audience, and in these days of studio manufactured sound and karaoke style performances, there may never be another.
Plodster.

Are you hiding in the closet
Are you underneath the bed
Did you go for a long walk off a short pier
How come you're not here!

On this very day, the 5th of September, in the year of 1946 on the small island of Zanzibar locted off the coast of Africa (Tanzania), an Indian couple gave birth to the gayest rock icon who ever walked this planet. If Farukh Bulsara had been alive, he would have turned 67 today. I suggest you bring him back to life for 20 minutes by plowing your way through this potpourri of his musical legacy. Eye-wink
.
Freddie Mercury - The Great Pretender (Malouf mix 1992)
- I always liked this remix better than the original version of Freddie's "Great Pretender" cover. Just like Pink is perhaps the only established artist who has ever done a truly impressive Queen cover, Freddie is perhaps the only established star who has ever done a great cover of The Platters' original hit.
.
Queen - I'm Going Slightly Mad (1991)
- This song proves that even in the early 1990s Queen was still an incredibly versatile band when it came to songwriting. Freddie had one foot in his grave when they shot this video, but you can barely tell from his attitude in this video. It's just as camp as any contemporary Pet Shop Boys video - and just as nonchalant-bonvivant as "Killer Queen" shot nearly 20 years earlier. Cool
.
Queen - Love of My Life (Live in Rio de Janeiro 1985)
- Pink still has some work to do, if she wants to top this! An incredible 200,000 people attended this concert in Rio 28 years ago, and proved that "Love of My Life" is perhaps THE best sounding stadium sing-a-long ever performed!
.
Queen - Man On The Prowl (1984)
- The now pretty much forgotten Shakin' Stevens topped the UK charts in the early 80s with his rock'n'roll retro ballads. Of course, Queen also had to prove that they could compete in this gimmicky field. Smiling
.
Queen - You And I (1976)
- This song written by John Deacon never got much credit, but it's actually a really well composed ballad with plenty of variation.
.
Queen - Save Me (Live in Montréal 1981)
- The Montréal concert probably has the best live vocals by Freddie.
.
Queen - It's Late (1977)
- Pink, please do a cover of this rock anthem NOW! I'm sure Spanky would approve... Sticking out tongue
.
Now get back to whatever you were doing - but please return in just a few days' time. Eye-wink

(No offensive text in this signature field from now on)

'Popey'... Punchy kicked me in the arse to make sure I didn't forget your birthday. These tunes are for you... Smiling
.
Alex Hepburn - Pain (2013)
- My brother still owes me a bottle of wine when he heard "Under" and insisted it was Pink who was singing it, no matter what I told him... Thank you, Alex Hepburn! Eye-wink
.
Humble Pie - Black Coffee (Live 1974)
- Aw. Poor Steve Marriott ain't among us anymore. What a voice.
.
George Harrison - Run of the Mill (1971)
- The quiet Beatle is also gone. But his solo debut album "All Things Must Pass" is very good.
.
Transvision Vamp - If Looks Could Kill (1991)
- I think Wendy James and the others are still alive. But the band died 20 years ago. Eye-wink
.
Twisted Sister - Leader of the Pack
- "Heavy Metal" in the 1980s was quite commercial. But some of the songs just refuse to die - including this silly sing-a-long. Smiling
.
Alphaville - Afternoon in Utopia (Live@Öland, Sweden 1986)
- There aren't enough people dreaming about afternoons in Utopia these days. Back in the 80s people still did that. Sticking out tongue
.
Happy (late) birthday. Smiling Smiling Smiling

How about a big meet up on Sunday september 8th?
We could set a time and everyone who wants to join can come online and we all can have a nice chat.

Judging from your FB posts I will have to assume that you have far better things to do than watching this space. Eye-wink
But thanks for your song requests. They certainly prove you have exquisite musical taste. I will post another Singalong in a few days - with as many song requests as possible... so please keep sending more.

But today is the 65th birthday of the Frenchman who made electronic music more popular than anybody else: Jean-Michael Jarre, son of the classical (film score) composer, Maurice Jarre. Like so many others in this musical niche business he had his most creative moments during the 1970s and 1980s... and early 1990s.
.
Jarre is indeed a musical and artistic perfectionist. Unlike most of his contemporaries, he has always focused on very concise instrumental compositions. Apart from the 1984 album "Zoolook" he didn't "give in" to the temptation of including vocals in his music until 2000. And he really didn't have to either. His instrumental hits went into the Top 20 charts everywhere nearly every time he released a new album!
.
Here is a selection of some of his finest moments. Some of which most of you have probably heard before - in a science or tech documentary perhaps. They often used Jarre's music to create a "futuristic" atmosphere. Laughing out loud
.
Oxygène part 4 (1976)
- Original music video.
.
Magnetic Fields (Les Champs Magnétiques) part 2 (1981)
- Original music video.
.
Equinoxe part 5 (1978)
- This original video is PURE kitsch! Laughing out loud This song brings back so many memories. Together with Queen's "I Want To Break Free" this was probably one of the songs that made me go ecstatic.
I HIGHLY recommend that you listen to the whole album.
.
Fourth (Quatrième) Rendezvous 4 (Houston live 1986 aka. "JFK" version)
- Edited version of the original live video. One of Jarre's major hits. If you were born before 1980 I refuse to believe you've never heard this ballad before. Eye-wink
.
Industrial Revolutions parts 2 & 3 (1988)
- User made video.
.
London Kid (1988)
- Pure soft pop that abuses almost all the 'romantic ballad' tricks in the book - except vocals!
.
Chronologïe part 4
- Original video. I dunno if this song was supposed to make you sweat - but I suspect it's more of a comment to the fast pace of modern life, and - well - information overload. 8-|
.
Fishing Junks At Sunset (Live in Beijing, 1981)
- An extraordiralily succesful fusion of traditional music and electronic sounds... Somehow it made me think of Pink's "Spanish Dance" for her intro to "There U Go" on the "Live at Wembley Arena " DVD.
.
Happy weekend, folks. Rest and heal. Smiling

Thanks for posting the Miami Vice theme and "Stay" ....I love it Eye-wink
Led Zeppelin is also cool and P!nk's cover of Babe I'm gonna leave you is one of my fav covers !
How is everyone ? I haven't been here for a while , I even used the wrong password first Shocked

+++I don't feel like coming down, no I don't
I don't feel like hiding out, so I won't
I can't turn the volume down, so I sit here in this
Chaos and piss ++++

It's time for another Singalong...
Jan Hammer is a Czech composer. Above all he is famous for his Miami Vice theme and also "Crockett's Theme" from the show's soundtrack. It's a catchy theme. I was 11 or 12 when this tune roamed the charts. Cool
.
Jan Hammer - Sonny Crockett's Theme (1987)
.
Siobhan Fahey had become so annoyed with her band companion and soprano Marcella Detroit's immense popularity, so after this live concert she threw her out of the band and made Shakespears Sister a solo project!
.
Shakespears Sister - Stay (Live '92)
- Notice the lousy vocal performance by Fahey, and then Detroit's impeccable re-entry at 2:49! Laughing out loud
.
Everyone know the most famous Mercury & Bowie duet "Under Pressure", but not many people knew that they also recorded another duet for Queen "Hot Space" album. The version of "Cool Cat" which included Bowie's vocals turned out to be less great, so I was left out of the album in favour of Freddie's solo version. Sticking out tongue
.
Queen & David Bowie - Cool Cat (1981, unreleased)
.
Another little gem from Yazoo's "Upstairs At Eric's" album from 1982... Pure melancholy!
.
Yazoo - Too Pieces (1982)
.
This is kind of an 'indirect request' from Di... And I gotta listen more to the Pumpkins - the original lineup of course, not the uninspired stuff that Billy Corgan is touring with these days... He used to be so good.
.
Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock
.
And finally...
.
Led Zeppelin - Dazed And Confused (Live @ Royal Albert Hall 1970)
- There's absolutely no doubt that Pink's very own "Spanky" would love if Pink would do more Zeppelin covers. But 'cocky' stuff like this probably wouldn't quite ... fit in. Laughing out loud
.
Please send me some requests. I'm never gonna stop this, but it'll be more interesting if it's not just me who's responsible for the picks. Eye-wink
