Unlike so many others Depêche Mode got really good reviews for their concert at Parken @ Copenhagen on Thursday this week. Apparently they were aware of the acoustic limitations and picked their setlist and sound level accordingly!
. Depêche Mode - Shake the Disease
.
Adamski (born Adam Paul Tinley, 1967) is an English dance music producer, prominent at the time of acid house for his tracks "N-R-G" and "Killer". "Killer" was Adamski's breakthrough single, but is now more notable for introducing Seal as a vocalist.
. Adamski - Killer
.
You've probably all heard Pink's collaboration with Michael Franti & The Spearheads called "One Step Closer To You". "Mr. Barefoot" (he never wears shoes) has been quite productive, and I like his sound and attitude, so here's a small handful of Franti songs for ya:
. Michael Franti & The Spearheads - The Sound Of Sunshine
. Michael Franti & The Spearheads - It's Alright
.
And here's one of his major hits. A lighthearted love ballad.
. Michael Franti & Spearheads - Say Hey (I Love You)
.
... And let's not forget the Pink collaboration. Somewhat religious, but very catchy.
. Spearheads & Pink - One Ste Closer To You
.
There's not a lot of Dutch music on the Singalong, but here's a golden oldie with some edge.
Shocking Blue was a Dutch rock band from Den Haag in Nederland, formed in 1967. Their biggest hit, "Venus", went #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1970, and the band had sold 13.5 million discs by 1973, but the group disbanded in 1974.
. Shocking Blue - Venus (1969)
.
One last song for this week...
. Brett Dennen - The One Who Loves You the Most
.
Take a deep breath and face another week.

very cool, it works haha first steps in html
btw this is a really good video; I just visited a Depeche Mode concert (my first btw) and Martin Gore, wow he has such a great voice, I knew this before but now I heard it live ....goosebumps !

Thanks for that Kasper. Hmmmm....well it actually sounds like a review our neighbours would do of this house when we play the Messiah - Extremely loud and we bounce around and smile obsessively through songs too!!! I haven't managed to read each concerts review on this tour but I willow try and track them down - be interested to see the differences. And you know Kasper, the next concert we willow review in person
OK. Here are the reviews of the Herning concert last night (but you're not gonna like it ):
.
Jyllands-Posten - 3/6
Headline: "Pink party turned into a damp squib. Pink straight into a frustrating sound disaster accompanied by 15,000 spectators."
.
Gaffa - 3/6
"... it was unusually sad and frustrating to see how a unique concert show last night was directly smashed by a sound that drowned in the crash and clatter. Extremely Loud and overdriven."
To this critic the terribly distorted sound (caused by Pink being late and having no time for rehearsals + the venue crew's complete failure to solve the problem) made all the difference. He was delighted by the show, by Pink in particular, but the sound ruined the evening.
.
EkstraBladet (the infamous Thomas Treo) - 2/6
"Before the end there was time to change outfits [again], bounce around and smile obsessively through songs that - even when you take the dubious quality of the genre into account - were [lyrically] pathetic. And the repertoire became even less appetizing, because Jyske Bank Boxen [the venue] - for a rare once - resounded terribly."
.
So once again Pink got butchered by the Danish critics. There has been some exceptions, but most of her live performances in Denmark has got below average reviews.
—

Yep. Pink's concert in Herning on the 30th is the last European concert in this round.
It has always been difficult for Pink to impress the Danish critics ("too predictable", "not enough artistic ambition", "seeking the easy way out", "pompous but hollow", "no development", "immature"...).
But in 5 days I will let you know what they said this time...!

Hi Kasper, thanks for the posts. Interesting lyrics in Adam's Song and it's messages. Now only a few MOORE TTAL European shows to go - before a break and then here in Perth You willow have to let us know what sort of review your papers give the show.
Singalong time again...
Less than a week ago - on May 20th - the sound of The Doors passed away when keyboardist and songwriter, Ray Manzarek (born Raymond Daniel Manczarek, Jr.; February 12, 1939 – May 20, 2013), lost the battle to cancer at age 74.
.
Here he is fronting The Doors live at the Beat Club on May 27th, 1972. This performance in Bremen took place one year after the death of frontman Jim Morrison. Keyboardist Ray Manzarek took the place of the lead singer. The song "Tightrope Ride" is taken from "Other Voices", the first album released by the band after the death of Jim Morrison. The Doors should only release one more album (Full Circle) before disbanding in 1973.
. The Doors (Manzarek, Krieger, Densmore) - Tightrope Ride (Live 1972)
.
Robert Van Winkle (b. 1967), better known by his stage name Vanilla Ice, wrote "Ice Ice Baby" at the age of 16, basing its lyrics upon his experiences in South Florida. The lyrics describe a shooting and Van Winkle's rhyming skills. The chorus of "Ice Ice Baby" originates from the signature chant of the national African American fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha. The song samples the bassline of "Under Pressure" by Queen and David Bowie, who did not initially receive songwriting credit or royalties until after it had become a hit.
. Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby (1991)
.
Blink-182 is an American rock band consisting of bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus, guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge, and drummer Travis Barker. They have sold over 40 million albums worldwide since forming in Poway, California in 1992. DeLonge left blink-182 in early 2005. Blink-182 reunited in 2009 and their sixth studio album, Neighborhoods, was released in 2011.
. Blink 182 - Adam's Song
.
It's been quite a while since I past posted Depêche Mode. Here's a classic mid 1980s song with both Dave Gahan and Martin Gore on vocals.
. Depêche Mode - Everything Counts
.
Bobby McFerrin's completely unexpected 1988 hit only consists of vocal instruments. Some of them have been dubbed quite a lot, but still . The song has become a 'happy evergreen song' in the same league as Monty Python's "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life" and James Brown's "I Feel Good". The song's title is a quote from the Indian mystic/sage/guru Meher Baba (1894-1969).
. Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy (1988)
.
Play it again, Ray...
. The Doors - When The Music's Over (Live '69)
.
... But the music's not over.

The first song on the Singalong today is supposed to epitomize sexual desire. Jean-François Maurice (d. 1996) recorded numerous of such songs during the late 1970s and early 1980s - often as duets with female singers. He did attempt to record English versions of some of his songs, but they simply sounded too 'corny'.
Jean François Maurice - Monaco 28° a l'ombre (1983)
.
Caramba was a Swedish music group. They released one self-titled album in 1981. The album is chiefly notable due to the entire album being recorded in nonsense language. One of the songs became a legendary pop ballad across Europe and is regularly played all over the world today.
. Caramba - Hubba Hubba Zoot Zoot (1981)
.
"La Camisa Negra" (English: "The Black Shirt") is a Spanish rock song written by Colombian singer-songwriter Octavio Mesa and recorded by Juanes for his third studio album "Mi Sangre".
The song was used in Italy in support of neo-fascism because of the association of "black shirt" with the Fascist Blackshirts of Benito Mussolini. In response, left-wing media network Indymedia called for a boycott of the song. Juanes later stated that "'La Camisa Negra' has got nothing to do with fascism or Mussolini...People can interpret music in all kinds of ways I guess." The song was also banned in the Dominican Republic for its sexual undertones
. Juanes - La Camisa Negra (2005)
.
The catchy duet from Pink's latest album performed live by Pink AND Nate Ruess - as it should be.
. Pink & Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason (Live 2012)
.
... And here is a song that I think Pink could (should) be singing - deep, dark, trippy blues rock of the finest kind!
. Led Zeppelin - When The Levee Breaks (1971)
.
And here's a live recording of Dean Martin and Perry Como singing a duet version of "Return To Me". Notice the embarrasment and laughter when Dean Martin sings "my darling" to Perry at 1:05 ... Different times.
. Dean Martin & Perry Como - Return To Me (195?)
.
Middle of the Road are a Scottish pop group who enjoyed success across Europe and Latin America in the early 1970s.
. Middle of the Road - Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum (1972)
.
Let's end this week's Singalong with a vocal and instrumental masterpiece taken from the amazing "Bladerunner" soundtrack. Without question some of the most innovative, yet atmospheric soundtracks ever recorded for a feature film - quite possibly the best science fiction film ever by the way.
. Vangelis feat. Demis Roussos - Tales of the Future (1982)
.
... Ooops! I forgot an import thing: Tonight is the night of the annual EUROVISION SONG CONTEST ... and here's what we can expect...
. Cezar - It's My Life (Romania's 2013 contribution)
... Jon Bon Jovi couldn't have sung it like that!
.
Happy weekend (or Pentecost).

Hi
On tuesday I had my 2nd TTAL show in Frankfurt, it was so awesome, she was in a very good mood and we saw Willow, so cute <3
Hey Flo, great that you also visited a show and had a good time
@Pinkdisciple: I met Inda, Fluffy, Di, Maria and Dee, but meanwhile you saw the pic on facebook
@Kasper: I know what you mean about the show , but the cover "Wicked game" was really great and expressive My biggest surprise was the CTMH- medley, I loved it and it was one of the best parts of the concert. Sober was also awesome and "The great escape" on the piano is one of my favs too - in Frankfurt she made mistakes and then she forgot how to continue and started swearing
It's really a great show with all the acrobatics etc but I also would like 2 see an acoustic concert or a concert which focusses on the songs

This is the nifty flamengo guitar solo that made James Derrico the most popular Pink band member... And now he's become irreplacable!
. Pink - Spanish Dance / There u Go (Live @ Wembley 2007)
.
It IS Frigay today tomorrow, so why not open a bag of sweets and dance around to this tune?
. Erasure - Stop! (1987/88) (extended version)
.
A romantic ballad sung with the softest and gentlest voice possible.
. Patty Page - Tennessee Waltz (1950)
... Or maybe you prefer the slightly more country'ish Patsy Cline version?
.
Another ballad... but a little different!
. AC/DC - Thunderstruck
.
Pulp's 1995 'britpop' masterpiece. Sublime lyrics & cool video.
. Pulp - Common People (1995)
.
Saucy as Hell (or Heaven), but Demis' voice and obvious talent for interpreting the Greek folk song tradition somehow makes up for all the speculative sauciness and pure banality... His biggest hit btw.
. Demis Roussos - Goodbye My Love Goodbye
.
It's hard to believe it's already nearly 4 years since Michael Jackson passed away in a lethal medicine haze. But here his is in all his total perfection. Not one of his best songs, but the performance...
. Michael Jackson - Wanna Be Starting Something (Live 1987)
.
The last song is actually just an instrumental with a 'bleeding' lead guitar. Clark-Hutchinson was a short-lived but sublime English prog rock band. This song is from their last album "Gestalt" from 1971.
. Clark-Hutchinson - The Light Burns On (1971 instrumental)
.

Pink is an outstanding rock singer and blues rock singer. She is not an outstanding soul & r&b singer (her Gnarls Barkley "Crazy" cover is by far her worst cover).
Pink's biggest problem is that she has become obsessed with her scene shows rather than her music... I miss the old 'bad ass' Pink.
.
... Try THIS again.

Didn't think you were going Kasper, but as the date loomed, I thought you might change your mind - if tickets were available. And I know your thoughts on those B sides
Glad you enjoyed it Flo - when she's happy, it's contagious!
Kasper you are really missing out on something.
She sings Trouble and the Cover of Wicked Game is amazing.
The setlist works well
.
It´s an awesome show. I have seen her in Berlin.
She was so chatty that she even noticed it herself and said "I am so chatty tonight, i should rather shut up and start singing."
She was really happy and having fun.
No. I ain't going at all this time. The only (absurdly overpriced compared to her previous concerts in Copenhagen) concert in Denmark is 3 weeks in Herning, and this has been sold out for months.
.
I've seen Pink 3 times before, and I'm not impressed by her latest album ("Try" and the B-sides are the only songs I like). But the main reason I'm not going is because the concert setlist looks far too conventional for my taste, so I've decided to look for other concert names, until Pink 'pulls herself together'.
.
In short: "Try This" is my favourite album (and there isn't a single song on the setlist from that album - can't remember if she sings "Trouble"). I also loved her Queen & Led Zeppelin covers on the last tour. But there are barely any cover songs on this tour, and I don't think any of the two suits Pink's raspy vocal that well.

Hi Kasper.
Thanks for singalongs. Is there a concert looming for you soon, or are you really not going? It's the last concert before the Messiah has a break and then her arrival in Oz
Hey Netty - glad you enjoyed the awesome concert. Who did you meet?
I am fine.
Sure i will see one show.
Will be in Berlin.
And it´s a shame that i won´t see the just Give Me A Reason Duet with Nate like the People tonight.
But it will be just as good in Berlin.
Hi Flo, I'm fine, I just had my first TTAL concert on thursday ,it was very awesome and I also met some ppl from here for the first time
How r u, do u also visit a concert ?

Time for another Singalong... A great mixed bag this time. Enjoy.
.
Sidney Bechet (1897 – 1959) [beh'CHÉ] was an American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, and composer. He was one of the first important soloists in jazz, and was perhaps the first notable jazz saxophonist. Forceful delivery, well-constructed improvisations, and a distinctive, wide vibrato characterized Bechet's playing. Bechet's erratic temperament hampered his career, however, and not until the late 1940s did he earn wide acclaim.
. Sidney Bechet - Petite Fleur
.
Diane's favourite Chicago ensemble band never became famous outside the States... what a shame.
. Sonia Dada - Lover, You Don't Treat Me No Good Nomore (1992)
.
U2 don't need no introduction. I just thought it had been a while since I posted one of their songs...
. U2 - Window In The Skies (2006)
.
The wife of Miles Davis sounds very self-confident on this FUNKY ballad. Certainly material for a future Quentin Tarantino film.
. Betty Davis - F.U.N.K. (1975)
.
Annabella Lwin and the boys... I think this song has also been featured in one of my favourite Simpsons episodes.
. Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy (1983)
.
Zaïre-born rapper and singer, Ya Kid K, was only 16 when her distinct vocal made the Belgian dance act Technotronic top the European charts in 1989. Now Manuela Kamosi is about 40, but she still calls herself "Ya Kid K".
. Ya Kid K - Do U C Me Standing (2011) Ya Kid K & We3Kings - Tell Me (2011)
.
Cherie Currie does an outstanding interpretation of John Lennon's Beatles song here. The Runaways manager, Kim Fowley, played the piano on this non-punk song that was never issued as an official Runaways song to my knowledge.
. The Runaways - Strawberry Fields Forever (197?)
.
Happy weekend, everyone.

The song was inspired by an incident at a gig in Newtown, Sydney, in about 1957. As O'Keefe and the Dee Jays played at an upstairs venue, an "Italian wedding" reception was taking place downstairs. Some of the dance patrons came to blows with wedding guests in the mens' toilets, and within minutes the brawl had become a full-scale riot that spilled out into the street, with police eventually calling in the Navy Shore Patrol to help restore order. Warning: There's a lot of pop music from the 1980s in Today's Singalong.
.
32 years ago, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) released one of their most famous songs "Maid of Orléans" - a deliberate, slightly sick (obsessed) fascination of the French national saint, Jeanne d'Arc (1412-1431). This song from their new album "English Electric" is a musical return to 'Orléans'... Sooo 1980s... but also quite good, if you're into classic synth pop music.
. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Helen Of Troy (2013)
.
... And here are the original OMD songs about Jeanne d'Arc from 1981:
. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Maid of Orléans (1981) Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Joan of Arc (1981 - no video)
.
Let's stay in the 1980s and the synthpop genre. I never saw Steven Spielberg's "The Goonies" back then (I haven't even seen "The Never Ending Story" or "E.T." either!), but I like this song!
. Cyndi Lauper - Goonies R Good Enough (1985)
.
The term 'Europop' (also sometimes 'Eurotrash' ) typically refers to electronic, commercial (sexual selling points) dance pop or techno music with 'crappy' lyrics. If those criteria are true, then this French ballad (by Desireless, the woman who also recorded "Voyage Voyage") isn't 'Europop' at all
. Desireless - Qui Sommes Nous (1989)
.
Let's celebrate that spring has finally come to Europe - if you're living on the wrong side of the planet, you can listen to the Eurythmics song below instead. Beatles - Here Comes the Sun Eurythmics - Here Comes The Rain Again
.
And now a song request by Paulla from Krákow in Poland. This is can best be characterised as "modern new age" music in the same vein as Enya and Enigma.
. Beautiful World - In The Beginning
.
And just one more. Dedicated to those who've lost someone lately, I guess...
. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (1975)
.
I'm happy that you're here

We are gathered here today - on the 28th of March (I am posting now, because it's almost midnight in Perth now) - to celebrate the birthday of our mutual friend: Pinkdisciple.
Unfortunately she is stranded on the remote west coast of Australia in a small, remote town called Perth. But rumour has it that there are a few other people there with her to celebrate her as well. But we don't know that with absolute certainty, so that is why we shall dedicate this Singalong to her...
.
Let's begin with - no, not Pink (but she IS on the Singalong a little further down, I assure you ) - Yazoo and their famous electronic-melancholic ballad "Only You".
. Yazoo - Only You (1982)
.
And now a touch of Down Under...
Midnight Oil has NEVER been on the Singalong before - it's a grave mistake that I have forgot about this "alternative" aussie rockband. They became famous during the mid 1980s, and came back on the world charts in 1997 with this well written, maybe a little 'daggy' pop rock ballad.
. Midnight Oil - The Beds Are Burning (1997)
.
Dippy... Help! This song is dripping...!
. Elvis Presley - Love Me (1956)
- That song is even older than Di, Netty, PR, Wellsy and Punchy, but I bet they all love it.
.
Apparently some people back in the mid 1980s thought that Paul Simon and the comedian Chevy Chase looked like each other. In response, Paul Simon put together a video for one of his best songs ever and asked the (much taller) Chevy Chase to appear alongside him. Great, technically advanced pop song and great lyrics too.
. Paul Simon (feat. Chevy Chase) - You Can Call Me Al (1986)
.
Joan Jett is for everyone. Here she is 50 years old and sounding and looking just as great as ever - what a provocateur!
. Joan Jett - Crimson & Clover / I Hate Myself For Loving You (Live 2008)
.
This ain't no love song, but one of Freddie's less romantic songs form his only genuine solo album "Mr Bad Guy".
. Freddie Mercury - My Love Is Dangerous (1985 / 1992 Jeff Lord Alge remix + lyrics)
.
This is back from the days when Pink still used removeable tattoos. Of course, you all know that this is also the event where Pink won her first MTV award and went up and said "I'm too drunk for this."
. Pink - Just Like A Pill (Live @ MTV Music Awards, 2002)
.
This little blues rock ballad dedicated to Janis Joplin is still one of my favourite Pink songs
. Pink - Unwind (Live 2004)
.
And finally: The whole AVO session live from Basel, Switzerland in 2006: 14 songs in a row.
. Pink @ AVO Sessions, 2006
.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY & Thank you for your patience with us... May it last forever, and ever, and ever...

I´m not Dead live is like icing on a cake.
I heard it on the Funhouse Carnival Tour.
Well, i hope she will be changing the setlist for Europe a bit.
But i am fine with most of the songs.
But please not to many songs like beam me up, great escape cause it´s a concert and i want to have a good time and not sitting there and cry.
I am very happy that GTPS is gone.
She did play "I'm Not Dead" when I saw her live for the first time back in 2007. At that time I had just 'discovered' her, and "I'm Not Dead" was one of my absolute favourites... It still is, btw..

I'm quite disappointed with Pink's setlist:
Raise Your Glass
Walk of Shame
Just Like a Pill
U + Ur Hand
Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)
Try
Wicked Game (Chris Isaak cover)
Just Give Me a Reason (But not without Nate Ruess!)
Are We All We Are
How Come You're Not Here
Sober
Family Portrait
Who Knew
Fuckin' Perfect
Most Girls / There You Go / You Make Me Sick
Slut Like You
Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
So What
Glitter in the Air
I only want to hear 7 out of 19 songs... That setlist simply doesn't have enough surprises (read: cover songs or previously never played live Pink songs) for my taste.

.
Awolnation (often stylized as AWOLNATION) is an American electronic rock band, formed and fronted by Aaron Bruno. The band released their debut album Megalithic Symphony in March 2011... I saw their 1st concert in Denmark a few weeks ago. Great concert at a surprisingly - totally packed - small venue.
. Awolnation - All I Need Awolnation - Sail Awolnation - Not Your Fault Awolnation - Knights of Shame
.
Here's another band I just saw playing live: The Tiger Lillies!
The Tiger Lillies are a cult British musical trio formed in 1989 by singer-songwriter Martyn Jacques. Often described as the forefathers of 'Brechtian Punk Cabaret'(?!?!) the Tiger Lillies are well known for their unique sound and style which merges the macabre magic of pre-war Berlin with the savage edge of punk.
. Tiger Lillies - Living Hell Tiger Lillies - Thousand Violins Tiger Lillies - Gin!
.
... And now for something more traditional...
. James Brown - Living in America
- "East" is represented by the Swedish 'Arnold', Dolph Lundgren... The 1980s - so cheesy music videos, but a lot of good music.
. Red Army Choir - Partisan's Song
- This is the REAL, classic sound of Soviet Russia, if you ask me.
. Varvara -Katyusha
- And this is living proof that the average Russian still loves the oldtimes soldier's song ballads... The equivalent to American country music or cheesy German folk pop music, I guess.
.
Here's a nice little twisted version of the 1918 song "Country Gardens" originally performed by Cecil Sharp (I need to look him up)
. Alas, Smith & Jones - Inner City Garden

... OK. Let me finish this with a Pink song, she is NOT doing on her TTAL tour. Also starring co-writers Billy Mann and Indigo Girls. Good stuff.

Yeah, I know it's still there - but no longer visible in the forum, so you'd have to know the exact link.
We put a lot of pressure on the new web page administration team to restore it, after it got deleted for some unexplained reason.
.
But we then realised that all the posts from June 2009 - April 2010 were missing. According to the admin team they couldn't restore those posts.
.
I honestly think that the loss of the original thread combined with the spam filter that suddenly blocked almost everything had an extremely negative effect on the Pinkspage Forum.
.
This website has been managed incredibly badly for far too long - and the ones who actually control how the forum is working never respond to all the complaints they must have received for the past two years.

Unlike so many others Depêche Mode got really good reviews for their concert at Parken @ Copenhagen on Thursday this week. Apparently they were aware of the acoustic limitations and picked their setlist and sound level accordingly!

Adamski (born Adam Paul Tinley, 1967) is an English dance music producer, prominent at the time of acid house for his tracks "N-R-G" and "Killer". "Killer" was Adamski's breakthrough single, but is now more notable for introducing Seal as a vocalist.

Michael Franti & Spearheads - Say Hey (I Love You)

... And let's not forget the Pink collaboration. Somewhat religious, but very catchy.

But here's a Google Translated verison of the quite positive Gaffa concert review.
(No offensive text in this signature field from now on)
OK. Here are the reviews of the Herning concert last night (but you're not gonna like it
):
(No offensive text in this signature field from now on)
(No offensive text in this signature field from now on)
Hi Kasper, thanks for the posts. Interesting lyrics in Adam's Song and it's messages. Now only a few MOORE TTAL European shows to go - before a break and then here in Perth
You willow have to let us know what sort of review your papers give the show.
Singalong time again...
. The song has become a 'happy evergreen song' in the same league as Monty Python's "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life" and James Brown's "I Feel Good". The song's title is a quote from the Indian mystic/sage/guru Meher Baba (1894-1969).

Hi

My biggest surprise was the CTMH- medley, I loved it and it was one of the best parts of the concert. Sober was also awesome and "The great escape" on the piano is one of my favs too - in Frankfurt she made mistakes and then she forgot how to continue and started swearing

@Kasper: I know what you mean about the show , but the cover "Wicked game" was really great and expressive
It's really a great show with all the acrobatics etc but I also would like 2 see an acoustic concert or a concert which focusses on the songs

(No offensive text in this signature field from now on)
Didn't think you were going Kasper, but as the date loomed, I thought you might change your mind - if tickets were available.

(No offensive text in this signature field from now on)

I am fine.
Sure i will see one show.
Will be in Berlin.
And it´s a shame that i won´t see the just Give Me A Reason Duet with Nate like the People tonight.
But it will be just as good in Berlin.

A genuine rock & classic is of Australian origin...
"Real Wild Child" aka. "Wild One" is an Australian rock and roll song written by Johnny Greenan, Johnny O'Keefe, and Dave Owens. Needless to say this ballad has been recorded numerous times - usually the main title was changed to "Real Wild Child".

Everlife
The song was inspired by an incident at a gig in Newtown, Sydney, in about 1957. As O'Keefe and the Dee Jays played at an upstairs venue, an "Italian wedding" reception was taking place downstairs. Some of the dance patrons came to blows with wedding guests in the mens' toilets, and within minutes the brawl had become a full-scale riot that spilled out into the street, with police eventually calling in the Navy Shore Patrol to help restore order. Warning: There's a lot of pop music from the 1980s in Today's Singalong.
) typically refers to electronic, commercial (sexual selling points) dance pop or techno music with 'crappy' lyrics. If those criteria are true, then this French ballad (by Desireless, the woman who also recorded "Voyage Voyage") isn't 'Europop' at all

We are gathered here today - on the 28th of March (I am posting now, because it's almost midnight in Perth now) - to celebrate the birthday of our mutual friend: Pinkdisciple.
) - Yazoo and their famous electronic-melancholic ballad "Only You".

Unfortunately she is stranded on the remote west coast of Australia in a small, remote town called Perth. But rumour has it that there are a few other people there with her to celebrate her as well. But we don't know that with absolute certainty, so that is why we shall dedicate this Singalong to her...

Let's begin with - no, not Pink (but she IS on the Singalong a little further down, I assure you

Apparently some people back in the mid 1980s thought that Paul Simon and the comedian Chevy Chase looked like each other. In response, Paul Simon put together a video for one of his best songs ever and asked the (much taller) Chevy Chase to appear alongside him. Great, technically advanced pop song and great lyrics too.

for me it's ok if i have 2 cry, i love the emotional songs and they r much better for her awesome voice...lots of songs from TTAL contain refrains with ...idk how 2 say, it's not the real voice, a bit artificial or whatever ....i like the ballads on this album moore and "louder" songs have been better on the past albums imho

Hi Punchy, hi Kasper....any1 else around? I reckon each of us could have made a better set list
Well, maybe she's gonna change some songs for the european tour, will b boring for her if it's always completely the same or what
Oh and I forgot 2 mention "I'm not dead" in my last post, would love 2 see this live ....(and not only on a DVD)

remember the triangle
dr doris the living legend
pinkrawks/dippo can get bent but i love poepy/dipclit
I completely agree with you, Netty.

Are we all we are, So what and Blow me : i don't like these songs so much
songs like U&Ur hand ,leave me alone etc. : good songs but played so many times while other songs never have been played in concerts, always the same stuff and it would have been better if she would do songs like Free, When we're through, chaos and piss ...
where r my fav songs from TTAL album like Beam me up, The great escape , Signature move .....

I'm quite disappointed with Pink's setlist:

(But not without Nate Ruess!)

Raise Your Glass
Walk of Shame
Just Like a Pill
U + Ur Hand
Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)
Try
Wicked Game (Chris Isaak cover)
Just Give Me a Reason
Are We All We Are
How Come You're Not Here
Sober
Family Portrait
Who Knew
Fuckin' Perfect
Most Girls / There You Go / You Make Me Sick
Slut Like You
Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
So What
Glitter in the Air
I only want to hear 7 out of 19 songs... That setlist simply doesn't have enough surprises (read: cover songs or previously never played live Pink songs) for my taste.

I know that Pink's TTAL tour has just begun, but surely that can't be an excuse not to listen to my Singalongs...

.
Awolnation (often stylized as AWOLNATION) is an American electronic rock band, formed and fronted by Aaron Bruno. The band released their debut album Megalithic Symphony in March 2011... I saw their 1st concert in Denmark a few weeks ago. Great concert at a surprisingly - totally packed - small venue.
.
Awolnation - All I Need
Awolnation - Sail
Awolnation - Not Your Fault
Awolnation - Knights of Shame
.
Here's another band I just saw playing live: The Tiger Lillies!
The Tiger Lillies are a cult British musical trio formed in 1989 by singer-songwriter Martyn Jacques. Often described as the forefathers of 'Brechtian Punk Cabaret'(?!?!) the Tiger Lillies are well known for their unique sound and style which merges the macabre magic of pre-war Berlin with the savage edge of punk.
.
Tiger Lillies - Living Hell
Tiger Lillies - Thousand Violins
Tiger Lillies - Gin!
.
The equivalent to American country music or cheesy German folk pop music, I guess.
.
Here's a nice little twisted version of the 1918 song "Country Gardens" originally performed by Cecil Sharp (I need to look him up)
.
Alas, Smith & Jones - Inner City Garden
.
... OK. Let me finish this with a Pink song, she is NOT doing on her TTAL tour. Also starring co-writers Billy Mann and Indigo Girls. Good stuff.
.
Pink & Indigo Girls - Dear Mr. President (live)
.
... I will try to avoid such long pauses betwen future Singalong posts.
