What's the reason?

What's the reason?

First off, I love all of Pink's music. But, I'm wondering about the lyrics to her songs and why they sound like she has had a bad past. Some people can get their feelings and emotions out in music and music only. Is this how she copes with things? I've also wondered if something bad happened to her when she was a child. She seems to have a lot of anger and hurt, and I wonder if this stems from childhood. I don't mean the divorce her parents went through, I mean personal things like abuse.

sorry I pushed bad button Smiling.., it is most important to open your self and let get away that inner pain what´s hurting... her way does to write songs....and why they are sooooo excellent... because she describes the life to every other and make her well that way... so easy but genial Smiling bye to all Ela

Long Way To Happy from her last album is about sexual abuse, however, she didn't write it about her own experiences, it was a friend of hers growing up that she was witness to the affects of what happened.

Read the lyrics and you'll see....

One night to you
Lasted six weeks for me
Just a bitter little pill now
Just to try to go to sleep
No more waking up to innocence
Say hello to hesitance
To everyone I meet
Thanks to you years ago
I guess I'll never know
What love means to me but oh
I'll keep on rolling down this road
But I've got a bad, bad feeling

It's gonna take a long time to love
It's gonna take a lot to hold on
It's gonna be a long way to happy, yeah
Left in the pieces that you broke me into
Torn apart but now I've got to
Keep on rolling like a stone
Cause it's gonna be a long long way to happy

Left my childhood behind
In a roll away bed
Everything was so damn simple
Now I'm losing my head(losing my head)
Trying to cover up the damage
And pad out all the bruises
Too young to know I had it
So it didn't hurt to lose it (didn't hurt to lose it)
Didn't hurt to lose it (didm't hurt to lose it)
No but oh
I'll keep on rolling down this road
But I've got a bad, bad feeling

It's gonna take a long time to love
It's gonna take a lot to hold on
It's gonna be a long way to happy, yeah
Left in the pieces that you broke me into
Torn apart but now I've got to
Keep on rolling like a stone
Cause it's gonna be a long long way

Now I'm numb as hell and I can't feel a thing
But don't worry about regret or guilt cause I never knew your name
I just want to thank you
Thank you
From the bottem of my heart
For all the sleepless nights
And for tearing me apart yeah yeah

It's gonna take a long time to love
It's gonna take a lot to hold on
It's gonna be a long way to happy, yeah
Left in the pieces that you broke me into
Torn apart but now I've got to
Keep on rolling like a stone
Cause it's gonna be a long long way

It's gonna take a long time to love
It's gonna take a lot to hold on
It's gonna be a long, long, long, long way to happy, yeah
Left in the pieces that you broke me into
Torn apart but now I've got to
Keep on rolling like a stone
Cause it's gonna be a long long way to happy

Ive wondered that myself, as someone who was abused as a child I do get the feeling some thing from her past still haunts her and has helped shaped her insecurities as well as bad choices in life with drugs and alchol abuse ( things like that always do), but I dont know maybe you dont necessarily need to have been abused to have those issues in life.I havent heard it mentioned before , it may be a touchy area she may not want to go or may not be ready to go yet. There are some things you dont want the world to know.

Well we know from the song "Family Portrait" that her parent's divorce was really hard on her.

pretty much 100% of her songs are written from personal experience or something that she has seen her friends go through. if i remember correctly she writes down thoughts and ideas in a journal that she carries around, and then when it comes to sitting down and writing her songs with people, she's got a lot of material to use.

i know myself that writing down whatever you've got going on in your head, whether it be good or bad it is a good release! it's better to get it out, then to let it sit there in your head for you to stress over!
