Hello, my name is Alicia Pomante and I am the Event Coordinator for “Chris’ Crew 4 Autism”, a team of family and friends assembled to raise money for Autism Speaks. My family is from the Philadelphia area; my sister Nicole and I grew up in Delaware County. Nicole, her husband Anthony and their 2 boys Christopher and Vincent live in Quakertown, not too far from your old stomping grounds. We’ve been big fans of your music for many years; a fellow Philadelphian "taking the music world by storm" is always great and the added bonus of you being an "Alecia" too, makes your music sound even sweeter to me!
Your issue of People magazine this summer was extremely touching. I think you are an amazingly strong woman who is going to be an exceptional mother and role model for your baby Willow. I was impressed to read about the lengths you and your husband went to to keep this very special time in your lives private as it should be, and that you chose your family values over the temptation of fame/money. Then I read the part of the article that explained that you were donating the money from the photo shoot to children’s charities, most notably Autism Speaks. You should be commended for such a wonderful, selfless act. Autism Speaks holds a very special place in my heart and those of my family. My nephew, Christopher Pompa, is 10 years old and was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, an Autism Spectrum Disorder, when he was 4 years old.
From its inception in 2007, Chris’ Crew has held various fundraising activities to support Autism Speaks. All of our proceeds are donated to that organization to support their mission of finding the causes, effective treatments and a cure for Autism through funding essential scientific research. Chris’ Crew has donated close to $40,000 to Autism Speaks over the past four years. Each year we vow to make our events bigger and better, to raise more money to continue fighting to find the cause, effective treatments, and a cure for Autism. We also are working towards creating our own foundation, which will give grants to local children and families affected by this neurological disorder.
Chris’ Crew has two of our biggest events of the year coming up in October and November. We would be honored if you could send something autographed for your fans in Delaware County that we could auction off at the events? Your representation at our events would truly make a difference in the hearts of our supporters and to Autism Speaks.
We would like to thank you in advance for your support and generosity. May God bless your precious Willow and your family. Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions.
