We are gathered here today - on the 28th of March (I am posting now, because it's almost midnight in Perth now) - to celebrate the birthday of our mutual friend: Pinkdisciple.
Unfortunately she is stranded on the remote west coast of Australia in a small, remote town called Perth. But rumour has it that there are a few other people there with her to celebrate her as well. But we don't know that with absolute certainty, so that is why we shall dedicate this Singalong to her...
Let's begin with - no, not Pink (but she IS on the Singalong a little further down, I assure you ) - Yazoo and their famous electronic-melancholic ballad "Only You".
Yazoo - Only You (1982)
And now a touch of Down Under...
Midnight Oil has NEVER been on the Singalong before - it's a grave mistake that I have forgot about this "alternative" aussie rockband. They became famous during the mid 1980s, and came back on the world charts in 1997 with this well written, maybe a little 'daggy' pop rock ballad.
Midnight Oil - The Beds Are Burning (1997)
Dippy... Help! This song is dripping...!
Elvis Presley - Love Me (1956)
- That song is even older than Di, Netty, PR, Wellsy and Punchy, but I bet they all love it.
Apparently some people back in the mid 1980s thought that Paul Simon and the comedian Chevy Chase looked like each other. In response, Paul Simon put together a video for one of his best songs ever and asked the (much taller) Chevy Chase to appear alongside him. Great, technically advanced pop song and great lyrics too.
Paul Simon (feat. Chevy Chase) - You Can Call Me Al (1986)
Joan Jett is for everyone. Here she is 50 years old and sounding and looking just as great as ever - what a provocateur!
Joan Jett - Crimson & Clover / I Hate Myself For Loving You (Live 2008)
This ain't no love song, but one of Freddie's less romantic songs form his only genuine solo album "Mr Bad Guy".
Freddie Mercury - My Love Is Dangerous (1985 / 1992 Jeff Lord Alge remix + lyrics)
This is back from the days when Pink still used removeable tattoos. Of course, you all know that this is also the event where Pink won her first MTV award and went up and said "I'm too drunk for this."
Pink - Just Like A Pill (Live @ MTV Music Awards, 2002)
This little blues rock ballad dedicated to Janis Joplin is still one of my favourite Pink songs
Pink - Unwind (Live 2004)
And finally: The whole AVO session live from Basel, Switzerland in 2006: 14 songs in a row.
Pink @ AVO Sessions, 2006
HAPPY BIRTHDAY & Thank you for your patience with us... May it last forever, and ever, and ever...
(No offensive text in this signature field from now on)
It's with great sadness that I learned today that one of the truly great blues & rock & roll legends had passed away.
This Singalong is dedicated to Alvin Lee. Born in Nottingham UK in 1944 who died unexpectedly during a routine surgery this morning.
The Bluest Blues
I'd Love To Change The World
If You Should Love Me
Hear Me Calling
I'm Going Home (Live @ Woodstock 1969)
I Can't Keep From Crying Sometimes (excessively long version, live 1975)
On The Road To Freedom (1974)
- With Mylon LeFèvre, George Harrison a.o..
Help Me (Live @ Fillmore East 1970)
- Most impressive guitar solo I've ever heard!
Stay cool. Stay gentle & Stay alive (unlike Alvin Lee)...
and i agree with GTPS
+++I don't feel like coming down, no I don't
I don't feel like hiding out, so I won't
I can't turn the volume down, so I sit here in this
Chaos and piss ++++
for me it's ok if i have 2 cry, i love the emotional songs and they r much better for her awesome voice...lots of songs from TTAL contain refrains with ...idk how 2 say, it's not the real voice, a bit artificial or whatever ....i like the ballads on this album moore and "louder" songs have been better on the past albums imho
I´m not Dead live is like icing on a cake.
I heard it on the Funhouse Carnival Tour.
Well, i hope she will be changing the setlist for Europe a bit.
But i am fine with most of the songs.
But please not to many songs like beam me up, great escape cause it´s a concert and i want to have a good time and not sitting there and cry.
I am very happy that GTPS is gone.
She did play "I'm Not Dead" when I saw her live for the first time back in 2007. At that time I had just 'discovered' her, and "I'm Not Dead" was one of my absolute favourites... It still is, btw..
Hi Punchy, hi Kasper....any1 else around? I reckon each of us could have made a better set list Well, maybe she's gonna change some songs for the european tour, will b boring for her if it's always completely the same or what Oh and I forgot 2 mention "I'm not dead" in my last post, would love 2 see this live ....(and not only on a DVD)
oi any1 around or wat
yes i agree with u CRUSTY and euro the wise and naked one about the set list wtf its not good , also CRUSTY we should get the old gang 2gether like the old days, but we hav 2 wait for dr doris , popey and dipclit to get back from stalking the goddess
I completely agree with you, Netty.
Are we all we are, So what and Blow me : i don't like these songs so much
songs like U&Ur hand ,leave me alone etc. : good songs but played so many times while other songs never have been played in concerts, always the same stuff and it would have been better if she would do songs like Free, When we're through, chaos and piss ...
where r my fav songs from TTAL album like Beam me up, The great escape , Signature move .....
I'm quite disappointed with Pink's setlist:
Raise Your Glass
Walk of Shame
Just Like a Pill
U + Ur Hand
Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)
Wicked Game (Chris Isaak cover)
Just Give Me a Reason (But not without Nate Ruess!)
Are We All We Are
How Come You're Not Here
Most Girls / There You Go / You Make Me Sick
Slut Like You
Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
Glitter in the Air
I only want to hear 7 out of 19 songs... That setlist simply doesn't have enough surprises (read: cover songs or previously never played live Pink songs) for my taste.
Hi, any1 around ?
I willow listen 2 the singalong when we r gonna have faster internet again (next month)
I know that Pink's TTAL tour has just begun, but surely that can't be an excuse not to listen to my Singalongs...
Awolnation (often stylized as AWOLNATION) is an American electronic rock band, formed and fronted by Aaron Bruno. The band released their debut album Megalithic Symphony in March 2011... I saw their 1st concert in Denmark a few weeks ago. Great concert at a surprisingly - totally packed - small venue.
Awolnation - All I Need
Awolnation - Sail
Awolnation - Not Your Fault
Awolnation - Knights of Shame
Here's another band I just saw playing live: The Tiger Lillies!
The Tiger Lillies are a cult British musical trio formed in 1989 by singer-songwriter Martyn Jacques. Often described as the forefathers of 'Brechtian Punk Cabaret'(?!?!) the Tiger Lillies are well known for their unique sound and style which merges the macabre magic of pre-war Berlin with the savage edge of punk.
Tiger Lillies - Living Hell
Tiger Lillies - Thousand Violins
Tiger Lillies - Gin!
... And now for something more traditional...
James Brown - Living in America
- "East" is represented by the Swedish 'Arnold', Dolph Lundgren... The 1980s - so cheesy music videos, but a lot of good music.
Red Army Choir - Partisan's Song
- This is the REAL, classic sound of Soviet Russia, if you ask me.
- And this is living proof that the average Russian still loves the oldtimes soldier's song ballads... The equivalent to American country music or cheesy German folk pop music, I guess.
Here's a nice little twisted version of the 1918 song "Country Gardens" originally performed by Cecil Sharp (I need to look him up)
Alas, Smith & Jones - Inner City Garden
... OK. Let me finish this with a Pink song, she is NOT doing on her TTAL tour. Also starring co-writers Billy Mann and Indigo Girls. Good stuff.
Pink & Indigo Girls - Dear Mr. President (live)
... I will try to avoid such long pauses betwen future Singalong posts.
u r so right but we can't change it anymoore
but now: tour start 2 morrow, so excited !!!!
i wonder which of the older songs she's gonna play and i'm so much hoping for chaos and piss and beam me up ...not sure if i will be so strong not watching all the stuff on fb
Yeah, I know it's still there - but no longer visible in the forum, so you'd have to know the exact link.
We put a lot of pressure on the new web page administration team to restore it, after it got deleted for some unexplained reason.
But we then realised that all the posts from June 2009 - April 2010 were missing. According to the admin team they couldn't restore those posts.
I honestly think that the loss of the original thread combined with the spam filter that suddenly blocked almost everything had an extremely negative effect on the Pinkspage Forum.
This website has been managed incredibly badly for far too long - and the ones who actually control how the forum is working never respond to all the complaints they must have received for the past two years.
i just found the old thread and u can even post in it 8-|
Hey fuckers, we just had 2 year anniversary for this break a record #2 forum yesterday !!!!
Btw , is the old thread still existing, i had a bookmark on my old comp but not on this anymoore

hey f***ers - it's tour season!!!!
I hope I don't end up in jail, but then again I don't really care!
Hi , how is every1 ? any suggestions for another PP meeting , maybe before tour start ? btw i still haven't booked a hotel for london, very expensive as i see and i don't want a f***in air condition in the rooms Kasper, please choose chaos and piss for a singalong, i think it's 1 of the best songs ever
Oh and Kasper, something from the real support acts please. I need to learn about The Hives......
Thanks Kasper - a pretty good P!NK song indeed.
Hope you are feeling better There are still soundchecks going on here in Perth, before the wife arrives. Here's a diverse bunch of sing-a-long research for you Kasper - JLO, Reece Mastin, Weezer and the Wiggles have all played the Arena, making sure it's all ok for the wife. Happy New Year and hopefully you willow pencil in a P!NK concert soon
It has gone quiet again in here.
No Pink concerts in my calendar yet. But I'm going with my brother to watch Awolnation tonight.

# Amen! Long Live P!nk #
Don't mess with WELLARD
It's time for another trip around the sun before we reset the calendar again. Every time someone has left us for good - the lives of certain pop stars still tends to be 'dark, brutish and short' as Thomas Hobbes would have put it in a whole different context. ... But it might also have been someone close to one of us. Someone who can never be replaced. So at least... please stay in touch - even if it's only at this random, occasional level.
The first Singalong of 2013 looks like this:
Let's start with a real masterpiece:
Pink Floyd - Mother (1979)
LJ directed my attention to Billy Bob Thornton's debut film as a director called "Sling Blade" from 1996. It has some similarity to Forrest Gump. It's a more gloomy tale, but perhaps also more touching.
Bambi Lee Savage - Darlin' (from the "Sling Blade" soundtrack, 1996)
... And as requested by PD: Here's a pretty good Pink song to get this new - concert tour - year up and running:
Pink - It's All Your Fault (2008)
I think I have posted this one before...
The Belle Brigade - Belt of Orion
And here's a song about the rough world of crime and violence anno 1988...
Erasure - Hallowed Ground (1988)
And finally a beautiful classic by Mark Knopfler.
Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet (1981)
... And finally-finally: The theme song of my favourite TV show when I was little: Emil of Lönneberga by the world's best children's book author Astrid Lindgren... I still watch it when ever it's on TV.
Emil I Lönneberga - Hujedamej Sånt Barn Han Var (1971)
I wish you all a happy new year... Now go out and see if it works.
get better euro oh wise and naked one
get happy ( birthday ) dr doris <3
