To anyone in the queue problems at NIA 30/10

To sum it up the whole queue ended up screaming at a man as he took the 'standing' sign off the door half an hour before the concert was meant to start. After waiting 8 1/2 hrs I was very angry. But anyway we got our way.

Basically I sent an email about this to the NIA. Finally after nearly a month I've got a reply:

Thank you for your email regarding your recent visit to The NIA to see Pink in concert. I was delighted to read your positive comments on the concert, however, I am sorry that you were disappointed with your experience as you describe. In light of the issues you have raised, I have been liaising with the relevant departmental managers on your behalf.

Firstly, regarding the queues that you have made reference to, I am sorry that you felt that there was no real organisation to the queues. To explain, a procedure was put in place for queues and there was signage on all the doors to advise visitors that there was a standing queue at each door. Regrettably, on the night of your visit, we had an issue with a member of staff who took it upon themselves to alter the entry process, and this was not brought to our attention until the doors had opened. This caused problems and the confusion that you describe. The member of staff has been dealt with and the necessary steps have been taken in dealing with the staff member in accordance with our standard procedures. Having passed your comments on to our Security Manager regarding the manner of the steward who you encountered, please be assured that he will rebrief our stewards on treating all visitors with sensitivity. All our Stewards attend a customer care course as part of their induction and they will be reminded of this. Please accept my apologies for the confusion and stress that was caused in the handling of this situation, and for the way it affected your experience. Please be assured that The NIA holds many standing events without issues, and this was not indicative of our usual procedures.

Thank you once again for contacting us and we look forward to welcoming you back to The NIA in the future.

Hey!

I know I'm WAY behind here but I don't come on here much, only just came across this thread.
I was at the same door as you and I wrote a letter too. The response I got back was almost identical to yours lol. I'm glad someone else wrote to them as well, hopefully will make them realise what a total mess they made of it all. I've been to the NIA three times and it was always so bad. Never going back!

We queued for 4 hours - not as long as some I realised! But some people started to form a queue of their own in the opposite direction. The security guards turned this queue around and let it continue to form. This meant people who had arrived an hour or even less before the doors opened got in before us and others who had waited longer.

This really annoyed me and meant that I was quite far away from the stage and to see people who had arrived as the doors opened standing infront of me made my blood boil!!!! Grrrr!!!!

The NIA really screwed the whole thing up!! When we arrived we asked which doors were for standing and the security guy had no idea!! What was the point in him being there?!

Got seated tickets for Coventry next year so thankfully this won't happen to me there! Lol!!!
