This is a masterpiece, the best one by Pink so far.

Songs like I'm Not Dead, Leave me Alone, I Got Money Now, Long Way to Happy and Runaway are really great. Maby people can relate to this songs, including myself.

The title track is one of Pink's most beautiful rock songs. Both lyrics and sound reeks raw, enduring passion. Up there with it comes "Dear Mr. President" - Pink's most convincing (and elegantly put) political statement yet, and probably one of the best political anthems of both this and the previous decade. Another political statement is "Stupid Girls", or rather it is a furious outcry (such as: "What happened to the dreams of a girl president? She's dancing in the video next to 50 Cent" or: "Where, oh where, have the smart people gone? Oh where, oh where could they be?").

About half a dozen of the songs are what could be called classic Pink. These are strong, energetic, melodic pop rock tunes with autobiographical lyrics such as "Runaway", "Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)", "U + Ur Hand", "Long Way To Happy" and the big hit "Who Knew". In the funkier departmen are "Fingers" (mastubation song) and the clever ('arrogant') biographical perversion "Cuz I Can".

Apart from "Dear Mr. President the album counts two more acoustic tunes which are guaranteed to last for many years: "I Have Seen The Rain" is performed by Pink's father James Moore on guitar and lead vocal and Pink harmonizing. It is a Vietnam veteran song which the two performed about 20 years ago when Pink was just 8 years old. The other quiet singalong is "The One That Got Away" - an excellent description of an imaginary, never realised, love to an 'unknown stranger in the crowd'.

I love this song. My favorite past time would have to be driving down the road listening to Pink and my 5 year old daughter singing right along with me and the song. She tries to teach her friends at daycare the songs. She also loves stupid girls.

In choir, we had to do a report on one of our favorite songs as our final. I love this song so much that i did my report on this song. I can really relate to this song even though im 16 now. I think that it is tru for almost all teens. You are such an awesome singer! It would be so awesome if you could come to Indiana Laughing out loud

On this album I really liked Stupid Girls, to tell you tha truth if I ever saw paris hilton in person I would Bi**h slap her into another world. Her parents should be embarrassed of themselves for even raising their kids to act like that, especially girls, and Dear Mr. President was tha s***. Thank you for saying what a lot of Americans wanted to say..loved the shoe throwing, ya know I had to upload that one. and conversations with my 13 year old self....I couldnt stop crying. That one hit right in the middle of my chest

I remeber the exact day when I bought this album. I was with my Nanna and I almost knocked her over when I got into the shop. It was funny coz i was fighting with this other girl to get the last copy. FUNNY!! I ended up getting it anyway because i was friends with the shop owner and he told the chick to give it to him, then we had to see who was the bigger fan. He said questions like:

Whats pinks real name and the chick said that she didnt' have another name
then he said whats her birthday and she said 19th June 1976. WTF? I got the questions right by a long shot, and the album was mine!!

I was so excited when I got the album because I absolutley loved U+Ur Hand and I was repeating that song over and over all day!! It drived mum nuts!!

PINK ROX MY SOX 4 EVA!!

LUV YA Smiling ;-o

I love this CD !
There are about 3 particular songs on here that i can relate to through personal circumstances in the past, but thankfully thats where they are...in the past.
I can play this over & over without getting bored. Thanx Eye-wink

This album chronicled a huge part of my life when it came out and even though she has just released Funhouse I still play this album all the time. There is heartache, anger, self-questioning, humour and political messages here that hit you hard. Musically it is energetic, fresh and very charged up. Probably her best album.

Love and Peace.

This is my best album ever , i love it, and i think im not dead song is quality. xx

I'm just an ordinary girl.
I own something like 24 GB of music on my computer, 24 GB of all kinds.
I've always tried to like one kind of music, one specific artist of a band, never could, i felt i'm different from others, that everybody knows what they like.
and i compare it to life, everybody knows what they want, what to achieve, what to expect, i was the only one who didn't, and it came by on my playlist, full of options.
All of that util i heard the song "I'm not dead" by accident.
I knew who Pink was... iv'e heard tracks from her previous albums, but she was only a small part from all of my collection.
I don't really know how to explain, but when i heard that song, i just knew there is something in her, she's way different from other artists, she's real, she knows what she talking about, she's a roll model for me.
Since then, every chance i have, i'm taking a look at her lyrics, smiling in each and every time.
Her music is her everything, she lives for her music, she knows what she wants, and that's what i'm trying to achieve.

Each and every song in that album have a say in my life ( and other's lives i guess ), iv'e learned alot, and i apriciate everything she does.

I know she might never see that, but i just had to say what's on my mind and expres it somehow.

Take care Smiling
Rinat.

hey... I felt I just had to reply to your post. U r an inspiration. I m so touch by your story.

Stay strong, stay focused. Firstly for yourself, secondly for your daughter, so U can be that inspiration for her.
I am a 46 yr old fulltime stayhome mum for the last 17yrs to a beautiful daughter.
Yes, we will always have some inner personal issues/ struggles/ baggages but we must always remember to get up when we fall, move on and carry on.

Kudos to you, never judge never compare that's exactly what I keep telling my daughter whenever she says she isnt good enough in this and that.

Just another P!nk fan (she's what i would have loved to have been in my younger days)

I know pink's not even gona read this but what the hell. I love pink so much she is my hero and i soooo wanted to go to her i'm not dead concert but couldn't afford it. i've saved up this time and i'm deffinetly gona be there for funhouse. She's is my only female idol and i no she is 4 alot of girls and these songs espcially have helped alot of people..Don't let me get me, conversations with my 13 year old self, stupid girls, just like a pill, family portrait and nobody knows. p!nk you rock my socks off and always will Smiling

Dear Readers, also reps of "pink",

So never thought to go on "Pink's" web site to express some feelings that where brought out by a song on one of pinks albums. Now after reading the some of the un-realistical post on here I doubt that "Pink" will ever read this, I am a stay at home mother returnign back to school at 23 and would not have time to short out some of the junk that is posted on some of these pages. let alone all of them. any way back to my post...

8 years ago I went throught a very rough point in life of drugs and running away and fighting with family. I loved "Pinks" music inmy "sober" moments and it most of the time help me stay sober for Longer. I more then once rewrote soem of her songs in high school for english classes to explain my mental state. but in 2004 I had a daughter(I named her Serenity, What I needed most in my life) I Kinda fell apart when GOverment services walked in and Took my daughter in 2006 Pink Released a new CD I was quick to buy it as always. and one song stood out to me.
"conversations with my 13 year old self. the first time I heard it I was driving down highway one in in Manitoba Canada. I had to pull over the car. I sat at the side of the road and cried and and cried. to this day I can't get through it with out letting a tear run down my face. I sat on the road side for two hours writing in my journal and talking on the phone with my mental health nurse. I am not saying it was the reason for my recovery. but it open doors that had been locked for years.

it is 2008 now I still listen to it and still always cry. I have my daughter at home and I am married to a great guy I no longer have drug problem. but stil deal with some inner personal issues.

I want people to know want music is about what it has always been about....the soul. and it is not about all the records you sell it is about how you do it... regardless. thought way to go on all the Sales!!! you are some one I would want my daughter to "copy" I am proud to say I a am a Fan of "Pink's" Music.

Just another Random Fan

Quote from Sherri M. Dicer

I loved the album. I especially like Dear Mr. President b/c it was an intellegent way to voice your opinion on how the government is addressing significant issues (or should I say their lack of). There were other songs too that I really enjoyed. They touched on issues closer to the heart. Nobody knows, Conversations w/ my 13 yr old self and runway. Nobody knows is at the top of my list b/c I know all to well the emotion that is expressed in the lyrics. I actually wrote somthing very short and similar to it myself. (its not a song or n e thing jus somthing i had to get out of my head.) Over all the album was great. Im really realy looking forward to the new album.

By far the best album out by Pink yet! For such an ecclectic array of songs, the album stays remarkably cohesive. Songs like "Who Knew" and "I'm Not Dead" use the tried and true Pink formula...belt it out and kick ass while doing it. But there were some surprises in store...particularly the songs "Dear Mr. President" and "The One That Got Away". These two songs prove why Pink is such an invaluable artist in modern music. The stripped down vocals and minimum production do nothing but make Pink shine. She's still got that rocker edge ("Long Way To Happy", "U + Ur Hand") and a catchy pop-song or two for good measure ("Stupid Girls", "Leave Me Alone (I'm Lonely)"), but for the most part she has only bettered herself musically, as well as lyrically. She even takes the time to get a little sexed-up on the Deluxe Edition release, with the song "Fingers" which was a huge crowdpleaser on the "I'm Not Dead" tour. Album highlight - "Nobody Knows".

This Album is awesome I love her old songs as well and i know that it is hard to live up to a reputation of good songs but this i personally think is the best album so far and i can't wait to get he new one in October.
But in the review section you missed one song "I have see the rain" P!nk sings it with her Dad and it is one of the most beautiful and meaningful songs i have heard.
My review on that song is definitely 5 first time i heard it i cried Smiling.
Love it

Im 13 and I usually listen to metal or hard rock but I have loved Pink since I first hear Dont Let Me Get Me. P!NK is amazingly talented and she is truely an inspiration for girls like me. She may not be perfect, but she is one of the last artists who has their own voice. She isnt influence by all the fame and money. There are almost no artists left who actually speak their mind and dont care what ANYONE thinks. All of her songs inspire me 2 speak up and not hold back, from Stupid Girls to Dear Mr,President, to Family Portrait, P!nk has an amazing way of conveying her thoughts and feelings with her wonderful voice. P!nk is a great example of someone who overcame all of the problems in her life. P!NK is my hero.
