So, I imagine if you are reading this you might be a P!nk fan, well you are in good company because I am too. I just happen to be lucky enough to work with her. My name is Tony Villanueva and I am costume supervisor on "The Truth About Love" Tour. If you have ever fantasized about what it would be like to tour the world on an exciting live concert tour I can tell you that it is bigger than anything you have ever imagined. So here I'd like to take you back stage to experience "The Truth About Love" that most people don't get an opportunity to see. First I'll give you a little back ground.

This is my 3rd Pink Tour. My first job with P!nk was as a Personal Assistant on the 2006 "I am Not Dead" Tour, in 2009 for the "Funhouse" Tour I was given the opportunity to design the dancers costumes it was exciting and scary at the same time. Bob Mackie was designing P!nks costumes and my personal stress level to come up with dancer/band costumes that were even close to the level of Mr. Mackie's designs was running very high. Mr. Mackie was very kind to offer suggestions and guidance. What I learned from both of those experiences was not to let your doubt's/fear cause you to pass on an opportunity. You are capable of way more than you think you are if you just apply the effort and search out the answers. Find the focal point and don't blink!

It has been amazing to witness the evolution of the 3 P!nk Tours I have worked on. Each one has risen to a new level. I can't even imagine how anyone is going to top THIS show. It literally starts with a Bang! and it doesn't slow down even at the "So What" Finale when...…well you just have to watch the Epix broadcast, a written description won't do it justice. Growing up I was fascinated with the music industry and any movie that depicted the romanticized story of the rising stars transformation. "Valley of the Dolls" (my favorite fantasy movie) gave me my first peek back stage, rehearsals, costumes, sets, photo shoots and I loved it! I just never imagined that I would ever be able to be a part of it.

P!nk's show's are not just a concert they are a full out event. At the show last night the entire audience was on their feet the second the curtain went up and "Raise Your Glass" started. I always watch the start of the show from the front stage left side to make sure the costumes look Ok. The roar of the audience is exhilarating. As I watch the audience for the first few numbers I always have the same thought, what is it like to be able to make people so happy? They scream with excitement, high five their friend's when they recognize their favorite song, sing with all their heart, and dance, well try to dance. I swear one night a lady was so inspired that she made up her own version of the "U and U'r Hand" choreography, it didn't matter to her that she was on crutches!

Wonderful, wonderful show tonight! But now its load out after the show and everyone works at load out. So I must wrap up. Next entry I will explain how we developed the costumes for the show and what it’s like to live on the road.
